Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it. – Lou Holtz
As I make the transition to adulthood, I have only one question, who is Nadia? My name is Nadia Jalloh, I was named after my grandma, and a nurse that helped deliver me. The name Nadia means “Hope.” As defined by Jean Kerr, hope is the feeling that the feeling you have isn’t permanent.” In Arabic, Nadia means; tender, delicate, or the calling. Urban dictionary describes me as a beautiful, sweet, kind, loving girl who is all about peace. Nadia wants everyone happy, sounds about accurate. VERY ACCURATE!
Over the years, I’ve been doing some self-discovery in hoping to answer my previous question, who is Nadia? Just like anybody, we all make mistakes. It’s how we come back from our setbacks that matters. I’ve met a lot of people along the way, listening to their stories as I continue to uncover my Self. I love how Allah (God) presents things in my life. I appreciate every bit of energy I’ve invested in the essence of who I am becoming.
The “Attitude” motto is to “Invest in Yourself, and Embrace Your Uniqueness.” My purpose for starting “Attitude” is for Self-reflection and Self-advancement. I believe embracing your attitude begins with Self with your experience and the choices you make everyday. If you know me outside of the cyber world, you know that I am a multipotentialite. A multipotentialite is someone with many interests and creative pursuits. Being a multipotentialite, somedays I am a carefree model, other days stylist, web designer, marketer, economist, coordinator, gardener, scientist, etc. A girl on fire literally.
I enjoy what I do, and the doors Allah has opened for me, I am blessed. No matter what I do, my fashion and Attitude are always in sync. When fashion and Attitude are in sync you feel free to express who you are, which allows you to stand firm in owning your authentic self.
